The Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department, which started producing its first graduates in 2008, graduates an average of 95 students yearly. There are approximately 398 registered undergraduate students in our department. The language of education is Turkish. Our department has three professors, three associate professors, one assistant professor, one assistant professor, and two research assistants.
Our department has Guidance and Psychological Counseling Thesis Master's and Doctorate programs in the Institute of Educational Sciences. One must be a Guidance and Psychological Counseling undergraduate graduate to apply to these programs. In addition, there are Preventive Guidance Services Non-Thesis Distance Master's and Career Counseling Non-Thesis Distance Master's programs in the Institute of Educational Sciences.
The Guidance and Psychological Counseling Program has double-major agreements with the Departments of Primary Mathematics Teaching, English Language Teaching, Preschool Teaching, Special Education, and Social Services.
The Guidance and Psychological Counseling Program has been accredited by EPDAD since 2018. There are ERASMUS agreements with Macedonia and Poland and MEVLANA agreements with Azerbaijan, Morocco, and Kazakhstan. The department also has agreements with various universities in Türkiye within the scope of the FARABI program.
Guidance and psychological counseling graduates can work as psychological counselors in private and public schools, guidance and research centers, mental health units, human resources departments in the private sector, psychological counseling centers of military and security units, and relevant public institutions.
