Guidance and Psychological Counseling

Guidance and Psychological Counseling aims to train experts equipped with theoretical and applied knowledge and skills who can provide guidance and psychological counseling services in various fields where these services are needed, especially in the guidance services of educational institutions. People who graduated in this program are expected to be extroverted, sociable and patient individuals with high abilities for empathy who are successful in interpersonal relations, sensitive to social issues, and like to listen to and help other people.

Guidance and psychological counseling graduates can work as psychological counselors in private and public schools, guidance and research centers, mental health units, human resources departments in the private sector, psychological counseling centers of military and security units, and relevant units of public organizations.

Opportunities Provided By The Program

The students in this program can pursue a double major with the Departments of Midwifery, Nursing, Primary School Mathematics Education, English Language Education, Preschool Education, Special Education and Social Work.

The Guidance and Psychological Counseling Program has been accredited by EPDAD since 2018. There are ERASMUS agreements with Macedonia and Poland, and MEVLANA foreign exchange agreements with Azerbaijan, Morocco and Kazakhstan. The department also has agreements with various universities in Turkey as part of the FARABI program.
