Sakarya is known for its proximity to the provinces of Istanbul, Bursa, and Ankara due to its location and the wideness of its transportation possibilities. Sakarya is easily accessible by road, rail, and airway.
Transportation by road is provided by private buses or private vehicles. The distance between Istanbul and Sakarya is 148 km, between Bursa and Sakarya 159 km, and between Ankara and Sakarya 305 km.
Transportation by rail is provided by High Speed Train (YHT) and departs from Arifiye district of Sakarya province. By YHT, it takes 50 minutes between Istanbul and Sakarya, 1 hour and 15 minutes between Eskişehir and Sakarya, and 2 hours and 45 minutes between Ankara and Sakarya.
Transportation by air is carried out via Istanbul Atatürk Airport, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, and Kocaeli Cengiz Topel Airport. While there are flights to many cities of Turkey from Istanbul Atatürk and Sabiha Gökçen Airports, flights are only available between the provinces of Trabzon and Kocaeli from Kocaeli Cengiz Topel Airport.
Our Faculty of Education Hendek campus has many transportation opportunities both to the province of Sakarya, to which it is connected, and to the surrounding provinces and districts. The distance between Hendek and Sakarya is 36 km and transportation is provided by road. With the Sakarya Municipality buses, both urban and inter-district transportation is provided with the Card 54 transportation card, and you can follow the bus times of the municipality via your smartphone or tablet on the municipality's website or the Sakus portal in the SBB Mobile application.
At the same time, Hendek Municipality has paid shuttle services between Sakarya University Hendek Campus and Serdivan Esentepe Campus. Shuttles depart from Hendek Rasimpaşa Merkez Cami, opposite Opet, and their times are as follows:
