Mission and Vision

The mission of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling (GPC) program is to adapt to the social, cultural, economic, and technological changes our country faces. We emphasize productive, analytical, and critical thinking while integrating both national and universal values. Our program is built on ethical principles and encourages engagement in high-quality scientific research and development activities.

We aim to train psychological counselors who are dedicated to evidence-based practices and accountability. To support this mission, we offer various initiatives, including the Area of Interest program, Social Transcript assessments, Student R&D Adaptation projects, and community activities. Additionally, we provide both Master's and Doctorate programs in Guidance and Psychological Counseling with a thesis option, as well as a non-thesis Distance Master's program focusing on Preventive Guidance Services and Career Counseling.

The vision of the guidance and psychological counseling program is to train psychological counselors who understand the paradigms of the 21st century in their field. These counselors embrace a humanistic and existential philosophy of life and are committed to ongoing career development. They possess social and ethical responsibilities relevant to their profession and are capable of effectively using information and communication technologies in both guidance and psychological counseling services, as well as for their personal and professional growth. Moreover, these counselors embrace universal values that transcend cultural boundaries and approach changes and challenges in individuals, society, and the world with interest, development-oriented thinking, and proactivity. They prioritize the advocacy of rights within their field and are prepared to work in various institutions, including education, health, social services, and industry.
