Accreditation

Today, internationalization, global competition, university rankings, the qualifications of the human resources needed by the business world, the interaction and overlapping points between the digital world; As in the rest of the world, it has led universities in Turkey to seek specific standards in terms of administration in terms of institutions and content in terms of programs. The institutions that evaluate the search for this standard are accreditation institutions. Accreditation is one of the most important means of achieving this in the field of teacher training, as it is in most higher education fields that provide vocational education today. Therefore, in recent years, efforts to establish and develop a higher education quality assurance system have gained speed and intensity both nationally and internationally. Accreditation in higher education is used to (1) increase the quality of education and its continuous development with a systematic approach, (2) ensure the quality of education and training, and (3) provide assurance that the quality of education and training is carried out based on certain standards to the segments where higher education serves. With the Turkish teacher education accreditation model created for these purposes; It is aimed to increase the quality of teacher education and to develop this education systematically with a continuous internal and external audit, to ensure the quality of teacher education, to provide assurance that teacher education is carried out based on certain standards to the segments (parents, students, schools) that education faculties serve.

 

Our university values ​​national and international evaluations within the framework of quality, vision and mission that it has created and is carrying out. In this context, it has applied to many evaluation processes. Our university is a higher education institution with many awards such as European EFQM excellence award, continuity in excellence award, European Commission ECTS and DS Label Award, National Quality Award. Within the framework of these studies, our Faculty of Education carries out the evaluation processes meticulously within the scope of the basic values ​​of our University. In this intense and comprehensive accreditation process; We would like to thank all our teaching staff for their devoted work.

 

As Sakarya University Faculty of Education; Within the framework of our vision and mission, we continue our efforts to achieve world-class education goals. In this way, we interact with internationally and nationally accredited institutions. The first international step of our faculty was taken with CAEP (Council fort the Accreditation of Educator Preparation). After the CAEP application and the preliminary evaluation, the result of "accreditation by a local unit" was communicated, the adventure of our faculty started with EPDAD (Teacher Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association) (https://epdad.org.tr/) as of June 2014. . Sakarya University Faculty of Education became the first faculty to apply for EPDAD and to be accredited among the Faculties of Education in our country. Accordingly, the Guidance and Psychological Counseling program has been accredited for 5 years as a result of the field visit in April 2018 and the midterm visits in March 2020.
